Unfortunately, truck accidents can be devastating for victims, as the sheer size and scope of crashes are violent in nature.
The Houston Chronicle reported recently that from 2009 to 2013, Texas traffic fatalities climbed 8 percent from 3,122 to 3,378, as commercial vehicle accidents increased by 51 percent.
Sadly, on October 27, a woman was killed in Pasadena after her car was crushed beneath an 18-wheeler on Highway 255. According to KPRC-TV, the accident occurred near Preston Road, with investigators saying that the woman was slowing down as a driver in front of her lost items from a trailer.
The woman’s car was reportedly struck from behind, as the driver of a tractor-trailer did not see her attempting to brake. The accident remains under investigation and charges are pending.
